We believe ScanTrainer is an unparalled ultrasound skills based simulator, that enables standardised and objective practical assessment at every level of skills competency.

Current training specialities include

General Medical

The TAS Upper Abdomen Core Skills package covers upper abdominal scanning skills on normal patients for liver, gall bladder, bile ducts, spleen, pancreas, both kidneys, aorta, bladder and prostate.

Our General Medical training modules

Gynaecology

Core transvaginal and transabdominal gynae scanning skills are taught using a range of normal patients. TVS Advanced Skills modules cover a range of pathologies from fibroids and endometriomas through to a uterus didelphys.

Our Gynaecology training modules

Obstetrics

TVS obstetrics modules include core first trimester scanning techniques, as well as key Advanced Skills, including scanning ectopic pregnancy, miscarriage and multiple pregnancies.

TAS obstetric modules cover 12-week dating, 20-week anomaly and 30-week growth scanning. Advanced Skills modules are available to teach the 20-week Fetal Anomaly Screening Programme and Diagnosis of Intrauterine fetal death module.

Our Obstetrics training modules

Emergency Medicine

The TVS Emergency Medicine package teaches transvaginal scanning in an emergency context using the core female pelvis examination scanning skills combined with ectopic, early pregnancy at 6 weeks and miscarriage teaching modules.

The new TAS FAST Core Skills module teaches the trainee how to obtain the required FAST views for scanning in an emergency and trauma environment. FAST is the first module to include one of new ScanTrainer Super Assessment modules, which requires the trainee to undertake ten FAST scans, identify free fluid and answer a range of multiple choice questions relating to each scan.

We also offer an Advanced Skills eFAST AAA module and eFAST Super Assessment module.
