The latest HeartWorks release introduces both dual monitor display and touchscreen capabilities including further enhancements to the new user interface. In addition, the HeartWorks display can now be set in five different languages:

With NEW touchscreen control and more GUI enhancements, HeartWorks simulation is just like training on a real ultrasound machine.

Touchscreen control

The new dual screen layout allows tutors to maximize the ultrasound and 3D model images for more effective group teaching. While the existing landscape monitor displays the interactive 3D heart model and retains keyboard and mouse control, the additional portrait monitor displays the ultrasound image and virtual console to more closely resemble the layout of a real ultrasound machine. It’s touchscreen enabled so that students can easily manipulate image settings while performing an echo study.

The virtual console beneath the ultrasound image has been enhanced to incorporate additional image controls:

• 2D gain
• time gain control TGC
• sector width
• focal zone

There is new intuitive positioning and sizing of the colour Doppler region of interest, as well as the ability to position the cursor on the full size ultrasound image before selection of Doppler spectral display or M mode imaging. The controls now also include a freeze function that allows the sonographer to scroll back through the preceding segment of imaging, as in a real ultrasound machine.

Sector Width

All new enhancements are also available on single monitor displays. Dual screen users will be able to project HeartWorks images in single screen format by simple selection from the on screen settings menu.
